The Higher Craft Current Line Up: Christina Poupoutsi Vocals, Keys & Lyrics (Ebonillumini) Craig Twining Guitars (ex- Magic Mushroom Band) J.D. Tait Guitars, Keys & Programming (The Meads of Asphodel/Ebonillumini/Worms of Sabnock) Chaz Noakes Bass (Derelict Highway) Andre Thung Drums (Daszarnes-Kongo) was formed in the autumn of 2007 with a classic 60’s west coast vibe by guitarist Craig Twining from 80's psych cult "Magic Mushroom Band" & vocalist Christina Poupoutsi. (Ebonillumini) [Note:] The other band members on board (Wishing to remain anonymous) jumped ship soon after the Magic Box 1st album was recorded in the winter of 2008, leaving the vessel with only two of her crew left. Not willing to disembark, Christina & Craig decided not to sink the ship, but to instead set sail! The Higher Crafts debut album 'Magic Box' was released on the 21st of June summer solstice 2008 Magic box was well received with highly acclaimed reviews in the psychedelic circles, and gaining honour as one of the best albums of 2008 by on-line webzine 'Trip inside this House'. In early 2009 the duo recruited new crew members J.D.Tait, song smith for The Meads of Asphodel, and bassist Charlie Noakes. With the new line up the band set upon recording the 'Legends of Time’ ep its purpose to bridge an arch into the revolutionized musical direction the craft was now creating The ep consisted of the brand new track 'Legends of Time' and a musical concrete collage 'Ode to great granddad' as well as several live performances from the Magic Box’. In 2009 the newly assembled crew performed 5 live shows in London and despite having not found a suitable drummer; THC undeterred perform using the programmed drums from the e.p. By the end of 2009 the band had embarked upon a radical new direction, now writing music that would progress rather than emulate to create a new era in psychedelic music. 2010 saw a year of travelling around the U.K for THC playing outdoor festivals and charity gigs. Also In June 2010 another solstice release titled Oracle-XIV-Gateway ep Introducing The single 'Gateway' which was taken from the new Concept album that the band were now working towards for their next album release. 2011 Sees the recruitment of the new THC heartbeat on drums Andre Thung from Norway The band begin the year with a series of festival appearances around the UK and are booked for continual dates throughout the year. 21st June SUMMER SOLSTICE 2011THE progressive experimental Psychedelic rock Hippy/Metal concept album The 'Quest into the Steppingstone Age’. A concept based upon a scripted multi-media musical stage play written by Christina Poupoutsi in 1995.The story takes us to one of the most notorious drug ridden and pestilential areas of the late 80's early 90's East End Metropolis where we follow a girl named Star & her quest for survival. Her choices lead us into the realms of Wolfmen, Guides, visionary’s, lemon slice's, circus carousels, African tribesmen, rivers & woods, doors hanging in blackened voids, missing keys?, spacecraft, & ganja green genitals.
